Beneveda Medical Group introduces Halo Breast Pap Test in fight against cancer

Breast Cancer, the most prevalent form of cancer among women, can be detected early, but traditional mammograms are dreaded for the physical trauma of a machine that holds a woman in a vice-like grip for the x-ray.
Now, a revolutionary technology promises to change breast cancer detection for many women, less invasive and kinder to the patient.
The Beneveda Medical Group in Beverly Hills, California introduces The Halo Breast Pap Test, described as a breakthrough device that determines the patient’s likelihood to develop breast cancer years before an X-Ray or MRI might detect it.
What’s more, the Halo technology does not use harmful x-rays.
“It’s a simple, non-invasive, 5-minute test that enables the patient, who is 25 or older, and may not have a family history of breast cancer to proactively monitor the health of their breasts on a regular basis by analyzing breast fluids,” says Dr. Thom E. Lobe, M.D., head of Beneveda.
Eight out of nine women diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history, and 85% of breast cancer originates in the ducts, which the Halo test is able to detect 10 years in advance.
However, it’s important to note, says Dr. Lobe that the Halo test “does not replace mammograms because 15% of breast cancers fall outside the duct parameters.”
Because the Halo test is new, insurance companies are not yet paying for it. But, it is recommended by Dr. Lobe and other leading physicians, and the cost of $100 is quite reasonable, considering many jeans and pairs of shoes cost more.
