The EBA Posture Shirt is a Valuable Tool for Fighting the Bad Posture Epidemic

Ever since high school, I’ve had really poor posture. My parents had me tested for scoliosis (curvature of the spine), but that wasn’t the problem (thankfully). I’m just a sloucher! So, when I was contacted about the EBA Posture Shirt, I was anxious to try it. Experts say that children’s posture is getting worse thanks to hauling around heavy book bags and bending over computer keyboards and gaming systems. Having poor posture not only affects the way you look, but it can also impact your breathing and overall health. Sitting or standing up straight just feels good because you’re breathing well and everything is in alignment. So, how can we teach kids (and adults like me) to straighten up?

Clothing Maker is No Slouch

How a retired salesman with a bad back funded a "corrective apparel" company during the downturn.

Bill Schultz was a successful orthopedic surgery equipment salesman when his lower back starting giving out -- the result of years of poor posture, he says. Looking to avoid surgery, the 50-year-old Californian searched for alternatives and stumbled upon a posture-correcting shirt that immediately relieved his pain. Shultz bought the idea and launched Alignmed, a Santa Ana-based "corrective apparel" maker. That was five years ago. Now, Schultz says it's time to bring his high-tech clothing to the market. "Every year was a loss and the entire investment could have been lost. That's the chance you take," says Schultz.

Stampede Blue Chats With Colts Safety Chip Vaughn

by BigBlueShoe on Jun 23, 2011

Because of the lockout, the Indianapolis Colts normal policy of 'no blogs' means nothing when it comes to access to players. Thus, Stampede Blue was able to secure some quality time with Colts safety Chip Vaughn, a third year player out of Jim Caldwell's old stomping ground: Wake Forest.

Chip was signed by the Colts in Week Ten of last season. Not long after signing with Indy, he broke his ankle in the Week 11 game against the New England Patriots on a seemingly route special teams play. Vaughn was one of six Colts safeties to land on the Injured Reserve (IR) list last year.

At 6'2, 215 pounds, Vaughn is a bit different from what the Colts normally have at safety. With Bob Sanders gone, it's possible that Vaughn may be the kind of player Colts defensive coordinator Larry Coyer is looking for at the strong safety position in 2010. We talked to Chip about that, and his recovery, in a special interview.
