‘Mary Pickford’ Documentary Premiere At The Academy To Benefit World Research Foundation
The 100th anniversary of the birth of a silent screen legend’s film career will be celebrated Friday, Aug. 28, with the local premiere of Mary Pickford, The Muse Of The Movies.
The Nicholas Eliopoulos produced documentary (www.marypickfordthemuse.com) will be shown in the Samuel Goldwyn Theatre, 8949 Wilshire Blvd., at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, an organization that long-time Beverly Hills resident and 1929 Oscar-winner Mary Pickford (Coquette) was instrumental in establishing.
The event will be presented by and benefit The World Research Foundation (www.wrf.org), founded by LaVerne Boeckmann, which
gathers medical informational globally and disseminates it to medical professionals to improve health and longevity.
The event begins at 7 p.m. with a VIP, celebrity-filled reception and silent auction (including two autographed photos of Pickford, plus two others) with the screening to begin at 8 p.m. followed by dessert and coffee.
